Ice Hockey
The Howard Huskies U16 A travel team won the Chesapeake Bay Hockey League championship the weekend of Feb. 21-22. The team beat Montgomery, 6-0, in the semifinals and then beat Southern Maryland, 4-1, in the championship.
In addition to the title, this season was also special because it marked the final one for coach John Poisal. He has coached for many years for several different teams, including the Huskies.
Current team members include: Tucker Ali, Johnny Cipolla, Matthew Costigan, Harsh Patel, Aleczander Pilarchik, Anthony Poisal, Daniel Schulman, Gabriel Taylor, Noah Wadsworth, Tyler Bull, Kevin Comeaux, Nick Ehrenreich, Paul Fiscella, Nick Jascewsky, Morgan Martin, Andrew Rouff, Brian Spiegler and Scott Yablon. The coaching staff is made up of Poisal, Mike Costigan and Nasser Ali.
Gymnastics
The women's compulsory teams from Top Flight Gymnastics competed in the Unique Classic on Feb. 15.

Maria Ramsey of Columbia competed at the 2015 Pink Invitational meet in Philadelphia on Feb. 28. An Oakland Mills High School ninth grader, Ramsey captured the Level 9 (age 14-15) all-around title with a score of 36.85. Ramsey, who trains at Docksiders Gymnastics in Millersville, also won the Floor Exercise with a career-high score of 9.625, placed third on Balance Beam (9.25) and fifth on Vault (9.375).
