Futsal
The U14 Boys Stars futsal team won the United States Futsal Federation Maryland State Cup Championship on Jan. 4 at Catonsville Community College of Baltimore County. The Stars, who are coached by Mike Scarff, went undefeated during the tournament.
Running
There were 65 runners that participated in the Howard County Striders winter weekly series race at Burleigh Manor middle school on Jan. 11. The 5k race winners were Karsten Brown (17:34) for the men and Celine Pisanic (22:04) for the women.
