Howard Bank to open branch in new downtown Columbia tower

Howard Bank will open a branch on the ground floor of Little Patuxent Square, a nine-story, mixed-use tower under construction in downtown Columbia.

The 3,500-square-foot bank is the first commercial tenant announced in the Little Patuxent Square project, which is under construction and expected to be complete in 2016. The bank will be located at the corner of Little Patuxent Parkway and Wincopin Circle.

The development will house 160 rental apartment units and 160,000 square feet of office and retail space. It is being built by Columbia-based developer Costello Construction, which broke ground in July. 

Howard Bank, which opened in 2004, has its headquarters in Ellicott City. It also has three branches, operations centers and mortgage center in the Howard County, but has expanded with branches and offices in Baltimore, Anne Arundel and Hartford counties.

"This lease signing will allow us to serve the community with four branches in some of the most attractive locations in the county," said Mary Ann Scully, president and CEO of Howard Bank.
