The Columbia Association announced this week that Oct. 26 will be the last day of normal clubhouse operations for Hobbit's Glen Golf Club, which is set to undergo a $6 million renovation.
The new clubhouse, which will include outdoor patio seating, an enhanced 150-seat indoor dining space and a tented lawn space, is expected to be open in November 2014.
Beginning on Sunday, Oct. 27, limited services will be available in the clubhouse for both the pro shop and The Coho Grill restaurant, according to a CA news release. A farewell party is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 27, from 4 to 6 p.m. The golf course will close on Oct. 28, for a private outing, which will be the last outing until spring.
From Oct. 29 through mid-November, limited services will continue to be provided in the clubhouse for both the pro shop and the restaurant while furniture and fixtures are removed. Demolition of the existing clubhouse is expected to begin in late November.
During demolition, the reception area, the pro shop, and limited food and beverage operations will move to a temporary trailer. A storage building to temporarily house the carts and chargers is currently being constructed. Restroom facilities will be available at the pro shop, the Racquet Club and at portable locations, according to the release.
In April, a new turn house providing food and drink service and restrooms will open.
