A project to connect two public water systems along Hickory Glen Drive in Columbia is scheduled to begin Oct. 7., according to Howard County officials.
Construction workers will install approximately 330 linear feet of PVC water main.
Most of the work will wake place at the Bluffs at Hawthorn apartment complex parking lot near Hickory Glen Drive, which is a private road.
Officials said the project's impact on nearby residents would be minimal, although delays are possible on weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. due to slow-moving traffic.
The project is expected to be complete by late January 2014.
