Alexandru was charged with disturbing the peace-hindering passage, disorderly conduct, making a false statement to a police officer and possessing false government identification. He was released from the county jail on $5,000 bail, according to the Maryland Judiciary case search website. The "exit ramp scam" has been reported throughout six other counties, including Prince George's, Montgomery, Baltimore and Anne Arundel, said Sgt. John Sawa, of the Maryland State Police Golden Ring barrack. People are pretending their vehicles are disabled, Sawa said, and asking for money."They're trading fake jewelry for the money," Sawa said. "Here in Baltimore County, we've had it happen all around the Beltway on parts of Interstate 95 and I-70 and I-83 as well. They move pretty quickly that's why we're having a hard time getting out there."
