Two arrested in assault at Columbia ATM [Crime Log]

The following is compiled from police reports. Descriptions of perpetrators are included only when the description makes identification possible.

East Columbia

Stevens Forest Road, 5700 block, 10:33 a.m. Feb. 18. Screwdriver used to pry open closet door in leasing office. No signs of forced entry. Items stolen from closet.

West Columbia

Little Patuxent Parkway, 12000 block, between 12 and 4:40 p.m. Feb. 19. Entry gained to apartment. Several electronic gaming systems and tablet stolen. No signs of forced entry.

Harpers Farm Road, 5500 block, 11:51 p.m. Feb. 17. Victim approached by two acquaintances who threatened to force him to cash checks at ATM. Victim refused. One suspect grabbed victim and threw him to floor. Victim fled. Andre Lamont Leighton Sr., 51, of the 6700 block of Freetown Road, Columbia charged with robbery, second-degree assault and attempted theft. Tonya Olisa Robertson, 32, of the 5500 block of Harpers Farm Road, Columbia charged with attempted robbery and attempted theft.

College Square, 10300 block, 5:34 p.m. Feb. 16. Officers responded to call for burglary in progress. Arrived and saw man in kitchen. Abdul Fodae Kamara, 28, of Bowie charged with fourth-degree burglary and malicious destruction of property.

Llanfair Drive, 6100 block, 10:51 p.m. Feb. 14. Late reported incident. Entry gained to house by breaking rear deck door. Jewelry stolen.

Little Patuxent Parkway and West Running Brook Road, 7:41 p.m. Feb. 14. Silver 2012 Honda Civic stolen. Tag: 8BE1832. Melton McArthur Montgomery, 20, of the 5000 block Columbia Road, Columbia charged with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, unauthorized removal of property and theft.

Little Patuxent Parkway, 10300 block, 3 p.m. Feb. 12. Late reported incident. Acquaintance of victim asked for money. Victim refused. Acquaintance reached inside victim's pocket, stole wallet and fled. Investigation continues.
