Police find missing 56-year-old Columbia man

On June 13, Hamilton's friend told police that they spoke over the phone but grew concerned for Hamilton's welfare two days later after he hadn't heard from him, police said. Police later went to Hamilton's home, where he lives alone, but he was not there. His car was still parked at the residence.

Police said they later entered Hamilton's name into the national missing persons' database as a precaution and became increasingly concerned as checks of cell phone records, area hospitals, friends and relatives had resulted in no information leading to Hamilton's whereabouts. Detectives also processed information to determine whether there has been any credit or debit card use on Hamilton's accounts.
