Howard police offer reward in Columbia armed robbery

Two men suspected in the armed robbery of a Columbia store located in the Long Reach Village Center remain at large, leading Howard County Police to issue a $500 reward for information.

According to police, at 7:50 p.m. on July 22, two masked gunmen entered Multicell, a cell phone store, located in the 8700 block of Cloudleap Court.

After the two men forced customers to the back of the store, they pointed their guns at two clerks, police said. One man reached over the counter and stole three cell phones, while the other demanded a clerk to open the register, according to police.

The two men fled the store with the cell phones and cash, police said.

Police described the first suspect as a young black man, approximately 5 feet 10, 130 to 150 pounds, with short dreadlocks, wearing a mask and a maroon shirt. The second suspect is also described as a young black man of about the same height and weight, with short hair, wearing a mask, a black shirt and khaki shorts.

Police ask anyone with information to call 410-313-STOP. Police said calls may remain anonymous. Citizens may also provide anonymous tips through the free smartphone app, "iWatchHowardCounty."
