After being shut out seven consecutive times, Oakland Mills is finally getting the hang of scoring. Friday at Hammond, the Scorpions waited until the second half to post a tying goal that sent the 1-1 game into overtime.
It was Oakland Mills' third overtime game in a row and fourth of the season. For the second time, the outcome was decided by strokes.
Christina Devine and Maggie Zuelsdorf scored on their stroke attempts; Hammond's strokers were shut out.
The first half of the game, which was played in a light drizzle, was all Hammond. The Golden Bears honored their five seniors during the pregame and the team came out aggressive and ready to play, beating Oakland Mills to the ball.
Hammond's Rachel McClanahan scored the only goal of the first half.
