An Ellicott City man died Thursday evening in a single-vehicle collision in Columbia, Howard County police said Friday.
At approximately 10 p.m., police said a 2005 Honda Accord traveling north on Harpers Farm Road approaching Route 108 left the roadway and struck a tree.
Lance Christopher Mercy, 19, the driver and sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Harpers Farm Road near Route 108 was partially closed for approximately three hours Thursday night. Police said the investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
