Man shot in Columbia on Sunday night is identified by Howard police, remains in critical condition

Howard County police on Tuesday identified the man who was injured in a shooting Sunday night in Columbia.

Police said they were called to the 6000 block of Foreland Garth in Long Reach for a report of gunshots around 7:10 p.m.

Officers found Jaden Ealey, 21, of Columbia, suffering from a gunshot wound behind the Exxon gas station.

Ealey was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he is still in critical condition Tuesday, police said.

Police on Tuesday said they believe the shooting was not random and may have been drug-related.
