Howard police identify body found in Columbia, investigating death as a homicide

Howard County police have identified a body that was found earlier this week in Columbia and are investigating the death as a homicide, the department announced Thursday.

Police said they located the adult body in a wooded area on Tuesday morning near the 6100 block of Old Dobbin Lane in the Long Reach neighborhood after the department received a tip that there may be a body there.

Police on Thursday identified the body as Nahun Odilio Delgado-Sanchez, 34, of Columbia.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances of his death. Police said they believe foul play was involved, and Delgado-Sanchez’s death has been preliminarily ruled as a homicide. Police said there are no further details available about the nature of his injuries at this time.

Police believe Delgado-Sanchez was last seen alive approximately a month ago, but they said he had not been reported missing.

Howard police are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information about the case.
