Community support helped Neighbor Ride win votes [Letter]

Neighbor Ride would like to thank the community for the generous support we receive every day — and especially thank all who supported us in the recent Tom's of Maine 50 States for Good Community Giving Initiative.

This month, Tom's announced that Neighbor Ride was a 50 States for Good winner, receiving over 2,500 votes during the 30-day, nationwide voting campaign. As a winner, Neighbor Ride will receive $10,000 to further expand its volunteer program.

We are humbled by the outpouring of community support that enabled us to win the grant, which will help sustain our vital senior transportation service. Winning the grant is especially important now, as demand continues to climb, with more and more Howard County seniors relying on our volunteer program for their transportation needs. Please join us in celebrating our 50 States for Good win at an open house from 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4. RSVP to community @neighborride.org.

As Neighbor Ride begins its 10th year of service, we would also like to thank everyone who has supported us over the years and invite you to join us and honorary chairman Sen. Jim Robey in celebrating our anniversary.
