Motorcyclist injured in Howard County collision

Howard County police are investigating a crash that injured a motorcyclist when a car allegedly failed to yield the right of way.

The accident occurred Saturday at approximately 5:29 p.m., when the driver of a 2013 Dodge Dart was attempting to exit Ducketts Lane and turn left onto northbound Washington Blvd., according to a release from the department. The motorcyclist was struck while traveling southbound on Washington Blvd.

Police said the motorcyclist, whom police did not identify pending notification of family members, was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma center and was listed in critical condition.

The driver of the car, Gina Marie Nalli, of Elkridge, was taken to St. Agnes Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police said a preliminary investigation showed that Nalli failed to yield the right of way of the motorcycle.
