The Laurel Woods Elementary School café is looking a bit prettier these days. That's thanks to a mural, with the theme Protect the Bay, that was created by the school's fifth-graders.
For two weeks, the class worked with an artist in residence to create the mural. The students helped plan and lay out the design as well as paint it. What a great gift to leave to the school.
Laurel Woods would also like to congratulate Justine Johnson as its Volunteer of the Year. Justine has served as treasurer, second vice president, and helped coordinate the Science Fairs, Dolphin Dances, Movie Nights and much more. Congratulations

If so, why not sign them up for the program offered by our library system where they can meet classmates, learn positive ways to succeed and work on those combination locks. Due to construction at our library, the program that is held in our area will be at the North Laurel Community Center on Aug. 14, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Registration is required, call 410-313-7750 or go to hclibrary.org.
