Carnival plus yard sale coming to Linden-Linthicum UMC [Clarksville]

Linden-Linthicum United Methodist Church youth mission teams are hosting a carnival and yard sale April 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Vendor and crafter parking lot spaces are available for $10. Bring your own table or rent one for an additional $10. In case of bad weather, the sale will move indoors to the fellowship hall. Contact

Maybe you don't have enough items to need your own space. You can donate household items and toys April 7-18 only to the Mission Team table, but no clothing, books or large furniture. Their storage space is limited.

Country breakfasts sponsored by the Fifth District Volunteer Fire Department in the Ten Oaks Ballroom ended the season on a high note.

The March breakfast saw the largest attendance of the season and fabulous volunteer help to set up, serve and clean up. The department sends a note of thanks to all for faithful support, especially to Eddy Zepp and his family for organizing the breakfasts and all their hard work throughout many years.

Everyone is looking forward to the start of a new season in September.

Ganoune was raised in Senegal and is proficient in 10 languages. He currently serves as director of United Nations Relations for the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Diop is one of the foremost experts on world religions and religious liberty.

There is an immediate opening at Dayton Oaks Elementary for someone to assist students in the special education department from 8:50 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. each school day. This is a contract position. If interested, call Jill Schindler at 410-313-1571.

All local elementary schools are reminding parents to register kindergarten and new students for next year now. Early registration is essential to have adequate staffing and supplies. If you know anyone with a child in this category, urge them to act now.

The next planning session for the Western Howard County Relay for Life is set for April 9. Help is always needed and appreciated. Contact the American Cancer Society for more details.

There are multiple events scheduled for April 13. Here are two that you might not know about.

The annual community clean-up of Triadelphia Lake watershed walkways and boat landings is set for 9 a.m.-noon, rain or shine. There are two places to park, Pigtail at the end of Greenbridge Road and Big Branch on Triadelphia Mill Road just east of the bridge.

Do you need to try a gluten-free diet? Finding tasty food can be challenging. There will be a gluten-free tasting at Roots Market April 13 from noon to 4 p.m. You may discover some delicious treats.
