Youth dance

The Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department's Junior Firefighters will sponsor a "Wacky Tacky" dance for ages 9-15 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the fire hall, 6275 Old Washington Road. Tickets will be available at the door for $10 per person, with a maximum capacity of 200. Food and beverages, including pizza, corn dogs, pretzels, nachos, candy, water and sodas, will be on sale. Post office renovation

A construction project to renovate and restore the historic Ellicott City post office at 8267 Main St. is under way and will include new office space and a visitors' center. The project is expected to be completed by late October. Traffic will not be affected. Information: 410-313-3440.
