Two hospitalized after crash involving 3 vehicles on I-70 in Howard Co.

A crash on Interstate 70 near Route 97 in Howard County sent two people to the hospital Wednesday morning.

Maryland State Police would not disclose details of the accident — or the identities and conditions of those involved — but they said one person was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore and the other was taken to Carroll County General Hospital.

The crash involved two sport utility vehicles and the driver of a tractor-trailer who lost control of his vehicle.

The eastbound lanes of the highway between Route 94 and Route 97 were closed for less than an hour because of the 9 a.m. accident.

State police were continuing to investigate.
