Columbia parking lot stabbing was likely drug-related, police say

A 37-year-old Howard County man who was stabbed repeatedly Monday was likely involved in a drug transaction when he was attacked, police said Tuesday.

The victim was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center Monday, where police interviewed him, saying they now have "good leads." Sherry Llewellyn, a Howard County police department spokeswoman, said the victim and assailant are acquaintances. No arrests have been made.

The stabbing took place in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 7600 block of Woodpark Lane in Columbia, in the Kings Contrivance community.
