Man critically hurt in stabbing near his Columbia apartment

A 37-year-old Columbia man was in critical condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore on Monday after an early morning stabbing in a parking lot near his apartment.

Howard County police said Clifton Epps of the 7500 block Rain Flower Way in the Village of King's Contrivance was stabbed multiple times around 7:30 a.m. Police said they think the attack took place in a parking lot in the 7600 block of Woodpark Lane, which is the adjoining apartment complex to his own.

After the stabbing, Epps ran home and a family member called 911, police said.

Detectives are trying to determine what happened and have no information on possible suspects, according to police spokeswoman Sherry Llewellyn.
