'Taste of Laurel'
Annual event takes place from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, at the Laurel Museum, 817 Main St. The program is in conjunction with the Smithsonian Institution's traveling exhibition "Between Fences" and its companion exhibit, "Barriers and Gateways: The Immigrant Experience," on display from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Sunday, Nov. 7, at the museum. History lecture

Art exhibit
"Above the Changing Landscape," an exhibit of aerial photographs by Peter Stern, runs through Friday, Nov. 26, in the Himmelfarb Gallery at Tai Sophia Institute, 7750 Montpelier Road in Laurel. Open house
Tai Sophia Institute will offer a Graduate School Open House featuring all of the institute's programs, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at 7750 Montpelier Road in Laurel. Prospective students will be able to discuss the programs with faculty, students and alumni, meet with admissions and financial aid counselors, and tour the facility's healing arts library, wellness clinic and the campus. Fun at the library
A "Picture Book Parade!" for ages 2-5 with an adult will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursdays at the Savage branch of the Howard County Library. The program includes a craft.
