The man police say set a woman on fire in a wooded area of Laurel on Saturday afternoon was charged with attempted murder, assault and arson in an arrest warrant, Howard County police said Monday.
Richard Rodola, 48, of no fixed address was also injured by the fire and is under police guard at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, police said. The victim, whom police have not identified, remains in critical condition.
Police incorrectly reported earlier that the man had been arrested and was in custody.
