Brooklyn man, 21, killed when truck rolls over in Howard County

A 21-year-old Brooklyn man was killed Tuesday night when the truck he was driving rolled over on a West Friendship road, and Howard County police said speed and alcohol were factors in the accident.

According to police, David Lee Bradford Jr. of the 400 block of Holy Cross Road was traveling south in the 2900 block of Hobbs Road when his 2003 Chevrolet truck drifted over the double yellow line and went off the left side of the road. Bradford then apparently drove the truck back across the roadway, and the vehicle rolled over onto its driver's side, police said.

Bradford was taken to Howard County General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to Maryland court records, Bradford was due to appear in court in December on a charge of driving a vehicle with a suspended registration, and he had been charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol in September.
