Rep Stage continues its 18th season with "Two by J.M. Barrie: The New Word and The Old Lady Shows Her Medals," through Sunday, Oct. 24, in the Smith Theatre, Horowitz Performing Arts Center, Howard Community College, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway. Holiday event

Slayton House's annual "Breakfast and More with Santa" will be held Dec. 4 in the Wilde Lake Village Center in Columbia. Tickets go on sale Nov. 1. Breakfast seating takes place at 8:30 a.m., and the special lunch seating takes place at 11:30 a.m. Cartoons will be shown during both seatings, and each child will get a private visit and have a photograph taken with Santa. Also, Santa's elves will help children pick out inexpensive gifts for the family. Gift wrapping is free. Tickets are $5 per seat, and seating is limited. Art exhibit

Slayton House Gallery will display a two-person exhibit featuring sculptures by John Hayes and screen prints and etchings titled "Full Circle" by Richard Hellman. Exhibit runs through Nov. 13 at 10400 Cross Fox Lane. Hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Closed Sundays. Around town

English conversation The central branch of the Howard County Library, 10375 Little Patuxent Parkway, offers "Let's Get Together: English Conversation Club." It's a chance for those for whom English is a second language to practice speaking and understanding English in a group setting. The club meets at 9:30 a.m. Mondays and 7:30 p.m. Thursdays.
