Open houses

Tai Sophia Institute will offer Graduate School Open Houses, featuring all of the institute's programs, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 16 and Nov. 20 at 7750 Montpelier Road in Laurel. Prospective students will be able to discuss the various programs with faculty, current students and alumni, meet with admissions and financial aid counselors, and tour the facility's healing arts library, wellness clinic and the campus. Fun at the library

A "Picture Book Parade!" for ages 2-5 with an adult will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursdays at the Savage branch of the Howard County Library. The program includes a craft. Pajama Time, when children may wear pajamas and bring teddy bears and blankets, will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesdays. The branch is at 9525 Durness Lane in Laurel. Information: 410-880-5980.
