Motorists expecting to use Route 108 and nearby roads in Columbia on Sunday, Aug. 22, may run into major delays from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. because of the Iron Girl Triathlon race, which is expected to attract about 2,000 people.
Howard County police warned that Route 108 westbound will be closed to traffic between Ten Mills Road and Centennial Lane. Southbound Centennial Lane from the Centennial Park entrance to Route 108 will also be closed. Police will be posted on the bicycle course portion of the event. Delays are also expected on Homewood, Folly Quarter, Carroll Mill, Mount Albert, Jumpers Hill and Triadelphia roads, as well as Cantor Lane.
