Acting workshop
Howard Community College's Student Arts Collective will hold an acting workshop for performing artists of all levels of experience, ages 18 and older, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, through Aug. 14 in the Smith Theatre, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway. Classes will be led by Los Angeles-based Steppenwolf instructors and include work on character building, improvised scenes and audition techniques. Registration is $475, and space is limited. Slayton House session
Slayton House Camp of the Arts is accepting registration for its last summer session, to be held Monday, Aug. 2, through Aug. 13 at 10400 Cross Fox Lane in Columbia.
