Acting workshop
Howard Community College's Student Arts Collective will hold an acting workshop for performing artists of all levels of experience, ages 18 and older, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 2-14 in the Smith Theatre, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway. Classes will be led by Los Angeles-based Steppenwolf instructors and include work on character building, improvised scenes and audition techniques. Registration is $475, and space is limited. Slayton House session
Slayton House Camp of the Arts is accepting registration for its last summer session, to be held Aug. 2-13 at 10400 Cross Fox Lane in Columbia. Art exhibit
