Spring art classes
Howard County Center for the Arts is holding registration for its visual and performing arts programs running through June 13. Adult courses include beginner watercolor painting, sumi painting and knitting. Youth courses for ages 5-12 include creating comics and cartoons. Free yoga classes
Yoga classes will be offered free at First Lutheran Church, 3604 Chatham Road, Ellicott City, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday evenings and 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturdays in June, July and August. The first class is June 17 at the Fellowship Center. Mack Khandvawala, a certified yoga instructor from the Yoga Institute of Mumbai, India, will lead the class. Day camp
Glen Mar United Methodist Church will offer eight nondenominational day camps for elementary school-age children at 4701 New Cut Road. Civil War exhibit
"Civil War: The Maryland Story," an exhibit highlighting the presidential election of 1860, continues through June 27 at the B&O Railroad Museum, 2711 Maryland Ave., Ellicott City.
