Photography exhibit The Columbia Art Center Galleries will present "A Collecting Affair III: The Art of Collecting Photography," Thursday to June 27 at the center, 6100 Foreland Garth in Columbia. The exhibition showcases collectors' photographs of five local female photographers: Denee Barr, Carol Cathcart, Joan Forester, Maili Godwin and Laura Vernon Russell. Special Olympics "Challenge Day," a joint effort with Cedar School and Special Olympics Howard County, will be held at the school, 11630 Scaggsville Road in Fulton, beginning at 8:45 a.m. Event is an opportunity for athletes who do not yet possess the skills to participate in other Special Olympics sports to show their personal best in skills they have been working on. Home and garden tour The Eastport Civic Association's fifth annual Home & Garden Tour will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. June 13. Ten homes and gardens will be part of the tour, which stretches from the harbor's edge to Chester Avenue. All homes are within walking distance of each other. Advance tickets are $20 and available at five locations: Ahh, Coffee! and Eastport Deli (both in the Eastport Shopping Center), K&B True Value Hardware Store (on 912 Forest Drive), Long & Foster (Eastport Office) and Windwood Gardens (on Old Solomons Road).
