Lecture series
The spring history lecture series continues at 7:30 p.m. May 19 at Montpelier Mansion, 9650 Muirkirk Road in Laurel. Gemologist and appraiser Lynne Loube will speak on the jewelry of George and Martha Washington. Admission is free. Information: 301-377-7817.

Savage Library fun
A "Picture Book Parade!" for ages 2-5 with an adult will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursdays at the Savage branch of the Howard County Library. The program includes a craft. Pajama Time, when children may wear pajamas and take teddy bears and blankets, will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesdays. The branch is at 9525 Durness Lane in Laurel. Information: 410-880-5980.
