Woman charged with manslaughter in November accident

A 20-year-old Howard County woman has been charged with negligent manslaughter in a fatal car accident in West Friendship last November.

Min Na Moon, of the 13000 block of Julia Manor Way in West Friendship, was indicted by a Howard County grand jury Wednesday and arrested by the Sheriff's Office a few hours later.

Police say Moon was driving a Honda CRX on Route 32 near Nixon's Farm Lane in West Friendship at around 6:45 a.m. Nov. 12 when it crossed a double yellow line and collided head-on with a Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Gilbert Leon Trowbridge II.

Trowbridge, 54, of Laurel, was pronounced dead at the scene. Moon was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in critical condition.

Moon was charged with negligent manslaughter by motor vehicle, negligent homicide by motor vehicle while driving under the influence and negligent manslaughter by motor vehicle while impaired.

Witnesses told police that Moon's car passed another vehicle on the right shoulder and she swerved across the double yellow line hitting.
