Job fair planned to aid unemployed from Ellicott City flood

An upcoming job fair will provide relief for employees whose jobs were lost in the damaging flood in Ellicott City on Saturday.

Howard County Office of Workforce Development will host the fair at the Disaster Assistance Center on Frederick Road on Monday between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Staff will help visitors with resumes and applying for unemployment insurance. Claims for insurance can be made online or by telephone as well.

Workforce Development is working with Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, along with the Howard County Economic Development Authority to put on the event.

Businesses interested in hiring individuals are asked to contact Workforce Development.
