Night paving begins Sunday on Route 216 in Howard

The State Highway Administration is scheduled to begin a resurfacing project Sunday on Route 216 (Scaggsville Road) at the U.S. 29 interchange in Howard County.

Weather permitting, the $650,000 project will be complete in mid-September.

Work will occur between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights. During those hours, motorists should anticipate lane closures with flagging on Route 216 and overnight closures of the exit ramp from southbound U.S. 29 to Route 216 and the ramp from Route 216 to southbound U.S. 29.

Crews will remove the top layer of pavement, patch, overlay and restripe about a half-mile of roadway.
