Two adults and a child were evacuated when a fire burned their Ellicott City home Thursday morning, Howard County officials said.
The blaze originated in the basement of the home in the 8300 block of Governor Grayson Way, where crews responded at about 11 a.m. Thursday. Fire crews from Baltimore County and Baltimore City assisted in the two-alarm blaze, which was complicated by "extensive hoarding conditions," crews said. The fire spread to the first and second floors of the home, according to Howard County Fire and Rescue Services.
No injuries were reported, and officials said the fire was under control within an hour. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Red Cross is assisting the family.
