A Howard County police officer and another man are both in stable condition at Shock Trauma after an early Sunday morning car accident on Route 1 in the Elkridge area, according to Howard County Police.
Officer Byung Moon, a county police veteran, was on patrol at 3:45 a.m. when a 2002 Mazda, driven by Ruben Guillen, of Elkridge, crossed the double yellow line and crashed head on into the police officer's marked car, according to Howard County police.
Both were taken to Shock Trauma with non -threatening injuries, police said. The accident, which occurred near Blue Stream Drive on Route 1, is still under investigation.
