An Owings man died when his motorcycle crashed at an intersection in Howard County early Saturday morning, police said.
David Roy Spriggs, 42, of Owings, Md. (Calvert County), was riding his bike south on Washington Boulevard in Elkridge and tried to take the exit for Route 100 to go east, according to police, who believe at that point he lost control and was thrown off.
Paramedics treated Spriggs at the scene, and he was taken to St. Agnes Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The precise cause of the crash is unknown, but police said they are continuing to investigate.
