Woman killed by dump truck in hit-and-run in Elkridge in Howard County

Howard County police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in Elkridge.

At 7:19 p.m., Huma Rani Isfahani, 54, of Laurel was crossing the 6800 block of Dorsey Road when she was struck by a dump truck traveling eastbound toward Anne Arundel County. The truck fled and Isfahani was pronounced dead at the scene.

The dump truck was captured on video and is described as a commercial dump truck with a white cab pulling a trailer with either a skid-steer loader or similar piece of equipment on-board. The truck is believed to be missing a piece of front bumper.

A doorbell camera at a nearby residence captured video of the truck just after the collision. Police are releasing the video and asking anyone who recognizes the vehicle to call 911.
