Sittercize The hourlong exercise program includes seated aerobics, stretching and strengthening drills, 1 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The cost is $36 for 18 classes.
Fit for Life exercises Participants do aerobics, strength training and abdominal work, 8:20 a.m. to 9:20 a.m. Fridays. $45 for 12 classes.
Painting and drawing A painting and drawing open studio will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesdays. Bring your own supplies. Free.
Hatha yoga Classes in this Indian system of physical postures and breathing will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. $45 for eight classes.
Silver Sneakers Walking Club The group is led by a staff member on an indoor track at 8:30 a.m. Mondays through Fridays. Everyone is invited.
Shoot pool Everyone is invited to shoot pool from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
Senior hoops Players are welcome at 9 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Fall festival
The Gaver Pumpkin Patch and Fall Fun Festival, being held through Sunday, Nov. 3, at Gaver Farm, 5501 Detrick Road in Mount Airy, features a pick-your-own pumpkin patch, free hayrides, a farm market, corn maze, pedal cart track, animal arena, giant slides, mini-mazes, playgrounds, an obstacle course, pirate ship, straw activities and more. Baseball tryouts
The Mount Airy Bulldogs will hold tryouts for its 2014 13U travel baseball team at 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at Twin Ridge Elementary School, 1106 Leafy Hollow Circle in Mount Airy. All positions are open. Information: Coach Jimmy at 301-748-5484.
