'Seussical'

History program
The second annual "Blast-in-the-Past: A Hands-On History Playground," will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, through Saturday, Aug. 10, at Montpelier Mansion, 9650 Muirkirk Road in Laurel. Children can pretend they're farmers tending their crops, be a town crier, shop in the outdoor market, try their hand at old-fashioned trades and more. Saturday night movies
Monthly movies for family viewing will be shown at 6 p.m. at the North Laurel Community Center, 9411 Whiskey Bottom Road. Each ticket includes popcorn and a drink. Crab feast
The Elkridge Senior Center hosts a crab feast from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at 6540 Washington Blvd. The menu includes Maryland crab soup, barbecue chicken, cole slaw, corn bread, watermelon and hard-shell crabs.
