Technology in genealogy

The Howard County Genealogical Society will meet at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Howard County Library's Miller branch, 9421 Frederick Road. Art exhibits

"HoCoOpen 2015," a nonjuried exhibit showcasing the talent of local artists, is on view through Friday, Feb. 27, in Gallery I at the Howard County Center for the Arts, 8510 High Ridge Road. "Poetic Energetic," featuring the mixed-media works of Nico Amortegui, acrylic paintings by Stanley Agbontaen and atmospheric encaustic figure paintings by Marcie Wolf-Hubbard, will be on display in Gallery II. History class

The Columbia Family History Center will sponsor a class "Researching Estate Records at the Maryland Archives" at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at 4100 St. Johns Lane. Admission is free. Information: 443-354-1757.

Soccer registration

The coed Elkridge Youth Organization's spring soccer program is accepting registrations for ages 4-18. No tryouts are required, and all players receive playing time.
