Equestrian event The 24th annual Howard Community College Grand Prix will be held beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Marama Farm, 5610 Chamblis Drive in Clarksville. Event features world-class equestrians competing on a course of obstacles, jumps, twists and turns. Special attractions include exhibitions, pony rides, boutiques, a pumpkin patch, maze, moon bounce and more. Proceeds benefit the HCC Educational Foundation. Youth dance The Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department's Junior Firefighters will sponsor a "Wacky Tacky" dance for ages 9-15 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the fire hall, 6275 Old Washington Road. Festival The Orthodox Church of St. Matthew hosts its annual Multi-Cultural Festival Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 1-2, at 7271 Eden Brook Drive in Columbia. Event transforms Columbia's Kings Contrivance Interfaith Center into an international destination, featuring live entertainment by ethnic musicians and dancers, foods made from family recipes, a wine and beer garden, crafts, a themed children's activity area, guided church tours, icon painting demonstrations, and a silent auction.
