Meet the author Larry Gibson will discuss and sign his book, "Young Thurgood: The Making of a Supreme Court Justice," at 7 p.m. at Howard County Library's Miller branch, 9421 Frederick Road in Ellicott City. Open house Visitors can tour Howard Community College's new Health Sciences Building from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia. Building houses simulation labs, diagnostic imaging equipment, an intensive care unit laboratory, dental clinic and more. There will be light refreshments served and door prizes.
