Figure skating The Gardens Figure Skating Club presents its ninth annual spring ice show, "Mary Poppins," at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at Gardens Ice House, 13800 Old Gunpowder Road in Laurel. Workshop Silhouette Stages will host a musical theater audition workshop from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, at Slayton House, 10400 Cross Fox Lane. Musical director Micheal Tan will instruct on auditioning, creating and updating an audition book, and finding new music, and also conduct a master class where some participants will get an opportunity to perform an audition song. Everyone will receive a handout that includes the topics covered in the workshop and additional resources. Those signing up for the workshop should bring prepared musical selections to perform, both up-tempo and ballad, with sheet music in the correct key. 'WomenFest' The Department of Citizen Services' Office on Aging presents its annual wellness event for women from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 27 at the Gary J. Arthur Community Center, 2400 Route 97 in Cooksville. "WomenFest" is an interactive day that focuses on health, wellness, fashion and beauty, and is designed to inspire women to live more balanced, healthier and fuller lives. Event will feature more than 90 vendors and exhibitors offering products and services of interest to women, as well as health screenings, seminars and food. There will also be free blood pressure, body mass index, osteoporosis, vein, partial skin cancer and glaucoma screenings available. Admission is free but seating is limited and tickets will be available the day of the event while supplies last.
