Expo The Jewish Federation of Howard County hosts its 22nd annual Purim Palooza & Kids Activity Expo at noon at Reservoir High School, 11550 Scaggsville Road in Fulton. 'Girl Power' The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory will host a free introductory event for middle and high school girls about careers in science, technology, engineering and math from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 11100 Johns Hopkins Road in Laurel. The event will feature 30-minute workshops on cyber situational awareness and women in aerospace. Girls will have the opportunity to speak to representatives from local companies and colleges about STEM careers and majors. Attendees can also try hands-on activities, including building their own hovercraft and learning about material, mechanical and structural engineering. Arts gala Howard County's annual "Celebration of the Arts" will be held Saturday, March 29, at Howard Community College's Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia. The gala begins with a reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. featuring a silent auction of artwork by local artists, culinary treats provided by local restaurants and live musical performances.
