Spaghetti dinner
The Knights of Columbus Columbia Council 7559 and the St. John's Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society will host a community dinner fundraiser from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at the Oakland Mills Interfaith Center, 5885 Robert Oliver Place. The menu includes spaghetti, meatballs, garlic bread, garden or Caesar salad,ice cream and beverages. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and cake wheel fundraiser. Art exhibits
•As part of its 20th anniversary celebration, the Artists' Gallery presents an exhibition of works by Bonita Glaser, Jing-Jy Chen, Deborah Hoeper, Denise Tarbell and Dr. Carl Segal, the founding members of the gallery. The show runs May 4 through May 29 at the American City Building, 10227 Wincopin Circle. A reception with wine and light refreshments will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May. 8. The Columbia Orchestra will present a performance of Broadway tunes from "Into the Woods," "Carousel," "Porgy and Bess," scores from the "Star Wars" and "James Bond" movies, and jazz hits by Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at the Jim Rouse Theatre, 5460 Trumpeter Road. Sports camps
The River Hill High School Boosters are sponsoring weekly summer camps at the school, 12101 Clarksville Pike in Clarksville. The camps which begin June 15 are designed to help young athletes improve fundamental skills. Times are 9 a.m. to noon or 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. More than 20 sports are offered, including football, soccer, baseball, softball, lacrosse, field hockey, volleyball, basketball, cross country, track and field, cheerleading, weight training, wrestling and dance.
