After two straight winless seasons, it turns out Glenelg Country wasn't just satisfied with breaking the streak.
Following a 2-1 overtime victory over Beth Tfiloh on Monday, the first conference win for the Dragons since 2010, Glenelg Country came right back out Wednesday against Baltimore Lutheran and kept the ball rolling.
Griffin Keane scored twice and added two assists, as the Dragons picked up a 5-0 victory that improves their overall record under first-year coach Hal Kenny o 2-1 this fall.
Against Beth Tfliloh, it was Keane who provided the deciding score. He received a through ball from Sam Smith, beat his defender and then slotted the ball into the back of the net with three minutes remaining in overtime. Kirin Zhang had provided the goal during regulation for the Dragons.
In the game against Baltimore Lutheran, Glenelg Country got ahead early with a two goals in the first half. The first goal was again Keane scoring off a feed from Smith. Smith later added a goal of his own, as did Reid Chaconas and Zhang.
The defense, led by Cole Chason and Eric Wootton (4 saves), did the rest and held on for the shutout.
