Love is in the air at The Vineyard Wine Bar. Maybe it’s the soft lighting or the comfortable seats by the fireplace. Or maybe it’s the wine list, 300 bottles strong. Whatever it is, local couples flock there for special occasions, from anniversaries to proposals.
“We’ve had a number of proposals here — people who have gotten down on one knee and proposed,” says owner Joe Lertch. “The whole place erupts with applause.”
The Vineyard is just as attractive for wine lovers who aren’t in the market for a diamond ring. The lengthy wine list includes plenty of unusual choices, and the knowledgeable staff makes recommendations based on customer preferences.
“We specialize in hard-to-find grapes from all over the world,” says Lertch. “We try to create a great ambiance for all our customers with the perfect food for their likes and wine for their likes. We try to make it as perfect for them as possible, whether they’re on a romantic date or a married couple who have come in for years.”
