Detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office have arrested and charged a Baltimore County man with shooting a 23-year-old man to death in Bel Air early Monday.
Milton Mondowney, 31, of Rosedale, has been charged in the shooting death of Corey Lambert, 23, of Baltimore.
At 5:25 a.m. Monday, deputies responded to a report of shots fired in the 1900 block of North Fountain Green Road, according to a Harford County Sheriff’s Office news release. They found Lambert inside an apartment, shot multiple times in his upper body. Lambert was pronounced dead at the scene.
As investigation progressed, detectives identified Mondowney as a suspect. He was taken into custody in Baltimore nearly 12 hours after the homicide, according to the sheriff’s office.
The motive remains under investigation, but the sheriff’s office said initial information indicates Mondowney entered an apartment and shot Lambert multiple times as a result of a dispute between Lambert and Mondowney.
Mondowney is charged with first- and second-degree murder, home invasion and other related charges. He is being held without bail in the Harford County Detention Center following an initial appearance before a district court commissioner. A representative of the Harford County Public Defender’s Office said Tuesday afternoon that Mondowney qualifies for a public defender but has not been assigned one yet.
